Globe Engineering Co. is tucked away at 7A in the Kotkar Indl. Estate. If you’ve ever walked through here, you know it’s a lot of small shops all doing their own thing. Our space is pretty similar to the others on the block. We have a lot of heavy stuff lying around, mostly because engineering isn't exactly a light hobby. The benches are old and have been used for a lot of different projects over the years. We don't really have a front desk or a receptionist to greet people. Usually, if someone comes by, they just walk in and shout for one of us. We spend most of our time looking at drawings or messing with parts. It can be greasy work, so we aren't always looking our best. The estate is a bit cramped, and parking can be a headache, but it’s where we’ve always been. We like the grit of the place. It feels honest. There’s no corporate ladder here, just a few of us who know how to handle the machines. Sometimes we stay late when a job is proving to be difficult. We don't talk much about visions or goals. We just talk about what needs to be fixed today. It is a simple life at the shop, and that’s how we prefer it. We just keep the lights on and the tools sharp. That is how we have always done it here.
