Gangabisan Murlidhar Miniyar

Our place is at Plot No-68/69 in the Market Yard. If you’ve ever been to a market yard, you know exactly what it’s like. It’s dusty, there are trucks everywhere, and people are always shouting over the noise of engines. Gangabisan Murlidhar Miniyar is the name on the boards, which is a bit of a mouthful, but people know us. We spend most of our time dealing with sacks of goods and checking weights. The office is just a small room where we keep the ledgers and the old chairs. It’s not the kind of place where you’d wear a suit. We wear clothes that we don't mind getting a bit dirty. The work starts early in the morning when the first trucks arrive. We’ve been at these plots for years, so we know all the other traders around here. We don’t have a website with fancy photos. We just have our stocks and our customers who have been coming to us for a long time. It’s a lot of talking on the phone and writing down numbers. Sometimes the power goes out and we just sit outside and wait. It’s a very traditional way of doing business, but it works for us. We don’t need much else besides a good scale and some honest people to work with. Every day is more or less the same and that's fine.
