Ganesh Engineering Works

Ganesh Engineering Works is located in Bhosari at 14/5/11. Being in an industrial area like Bhosari, we are surrounded by other workshops and factories. Our place is full of heavy machinery, lathes, and drills that have been with us for a long time. The floor is concrete and always has a thin layer of oil and metal shavings on it. We spend our days turning metal parts and fixing components for various machines. It is loud work, and we often have to shout to be heard over the hum of the motors. Our clothes are usually stained with coolant and grease, which is just part of being an engineer here. We don't have an office with air conditioning; we just have a small corner with a wooden table where we look at the blue prints and technical drawings. People from the nearby units bring us parts that have snapped or worn out, and we try our best to get them working again. Sometimes we are working on a single bolt, and other times it is a large shaft that takes all day to finish. We take pride in the fact that we can fix things that others might just throw away. The heat from the machines makes the shop quite warm, especially in the summer, but we are used to it by now. It is just steady, honest work.
