Ganesh Auto Break Liners

Down in Hadapsar SAI Wadi is where you will find Ganesh Auto Break Liners. It is a busy little shop where we spend the whole day working on brakes and liners for all sorts of vehicles. There is always a smell of burnt rubber and metal dust in the air here. We have stacks of parts piled up against the walls and sometimes it is hard to find a place to sit down. My uncle started this place and now a few of us keep it running. We don't really do much advertising because people just know we are here in the wadi. If a truck has a problem they bring it to us and we take a look. It is simple work but it takes time to get it right so the brakes don't squeak. We have a couple of benches outside where drivers sit and talk while we work on their shoes and drums. The floor is stained with oil and it never really comes clean no matter how much we scrub. We close up when the sun goes down usually unless there is a big job that needs finishing. It’s not a shiny showroom with air conditioning. It’s just a workshop where we get our hands dirty every single day. We keep the tools organized mostly but things get messy when we are busy. Sometimes the cat from next door comes in to sleep on the piles of cardboard in the corner.
