You can find Gandhis Coffee over on Baroda Street 203, right in the Khadki Gokul area. We’ve been at this location for a good stretch of time. The street outside can get a bit loud with the shops nearby, but inside it’s usually just the sound of the machine and people chatting. We aren’t one of those big coffee chains you see everywhere. It’s just us here, making sure the coffee is hot and the seats are available. We spend a lot of our morning just getting things ready before the first person walks in. Sometimes the delivery for the milk is late, and we have to wait around, but that’s just part of the job. We know a lot of the people who live on Baroda Street by name. They stop in on their way to work or while they’re running errands. The shop isn’t huge, and sometimes it feels a bit cramped when it’s raining outside and everyone wants to stay dry. We don’t have any fancy mission statements or anything. We just make coffee and keep the place open. It’s a lot of cleaning, a lot of standing around, and a lot of talking to the regulars. Khadki Gokul is a decent neighborhood to be in. We’ve grown used to the cracks in the sidewalk and the way the light hits the window in the afternoon. Sometimes the morning sun is bright, and we have to pull the old shades down halfway to see. Just a local coffee spot on Baroda Street.
