Our workshop is Shed No W-76 in Block S of the MIDC Bhosari Industrial Estate. It’s a large industrial area in Pune, and our shed is just one of many in a long row. At Fab O Parts Engineers & Manufacturers, we do a lot of fabrication and parts making. It’s noisy work, with the sound of welding and grinding going on for most of the day. The light inside the shed is a bit dim, but we have big lamps over the workbenches so we can see what we are doing. The floor is concrete and usually has bits of scrap metal scattered around until we clean up at the end of the shift. We aren't big on formalities here. Most of us wear work clothes that are stained with grease or soot. It’s a practical environment. We have a small corner with a desk where we keep the ledger and handle the phone calls. The heat inside the shed can get pretty intense during the afternoons, so we drink a lot of water and take short breaks when we can. We've been in this same spot for a good while, so all the neighboring business owners know us. We don't have any fancy brochures or a marketing department. If someone needs a part made or some engineering work done, they just walk in and talk to us directly. We just focus on finishing the work we have in front of us.
