We are based out of Flat 20 in the C 1 building of Padamjee Paradies Society. It’s right there in Bhawani Peth, number 383 to be exact. It’s a residential spot. We use it for our planning and coordination. Pune can be a busy place, especially around this part of town. Being tucked away in the society helps us keep things manageable. We spend most of our time figuring out the logistics for the food. It’s not just about the cooking. There is a lot of boring stuff like permits and delivery schedules that take up our day. The neighbors know us well by now since we’ve been here a while. We’ve been in this flat for a while. The society has its own rhythm that we’ve had to fit into. Sometimes the lift in Bldg C 1 is acting up. We end up taking the stairs more than we’d like, which is a workout. Running a biryani business involves more paperwork than people realize. It’s not all just spices and rice and good smells. We have to keep track of everything coming in from the markets and going out to the customers. Bhawani Peth is a historic area. We like the feel of it, even if the streets get narrow and hard to navigate sometimes. We just try to keep things simple. We work hard and make sure we don’t get too behind on the daily chores and accounting that keeps us going. It is just the way we have always done things.
