Associated Engineers

We've been here at Patwardhan Chowk for a while now. Associated Engineers is basically just a group of us working out of the shop at 34/11 Erandwane. It's right near Mehendale Garaj if you're looking for the place. We do engineering work, mostly fixing things and making parts that people need for their machines. It gets busy during the day, and the shop is usually full of metal scraps and tools lying around. We don't really have a big office or anything fancy, just the workspace where we get the jobs done. People around here know where to find us. Sometimes the power goes out or it gets too hot in the summer, but we keep at it. We just focus on the drawings and the lathes most of the time. If someone brings in a part that's broken, we see if we can replicate it or fix the threads. It’s not a quiet place, there’s always some noise from the machines running. We try to finish the work when we say we will, though sometimes things take longer if we're waiting on materials. Most of our tools have been with us for years. It’s just how we earn a living here in Pune. We don’t spend much time on the computer, usually just enough to check some measurements. The floor is usually oily, but that’s just how an engineering shop looks when work is happening. We're just around the corner from the main road.
