You’ll find the Educational Multimedia Research Centre University Of Pune at 5 Panini Housing Society in the Araneyeshwar area of Pune. Because we are part of the university system, we do a lot of academic and media-related work, but our actual office is in this quiet housing society. It’s a bit of a different setup than being on a main campus, but it gives us a peaceful environment to focus on our research and multimedia projects. The space is filled with a mix of old university furniture and a lot of modern recording and editing equipment. There are cables running across the floors and stacks of DVDs and hard drives on the shelves. It’s not a very polished place, but it’s where a lot of the actual work happens. We have a few rooms dedicated to editing and others for administrative stuff. Most of the people here are either staff or researchers who’ve been with the university for a while. We don’t really have a reception area, so visitors usually just knock on the main door of the flat. Araneyeshwar is a nice, leafy part of Pune, and it’s a bit of a walk to the main road, but we like the calm. We usually bring our own lunch or go to a small mess nearby. It’s a steady place to work where we just get on with our research and production tasks without much noise from the outside world.
