Dhere Engineering Works

Dhere Engineering Works is situated in Pratapnagar, Vadodara. The exact spot is Kaivalyadham, number 1660. We’ve got machines here and they make a lot of noise. It’s an engineering workshop, so expect some grease and metal scraps around the floor. We do a lot of different types of metal work. People bring in parts that are broken or they need something new made from a drawing. My father started working with tools a long time ago and I just kept it going. Vadodara is a big city for industry, so there is always something to fix. We aren't a clean, white-floor kind of place. We wear overalls and our hands are usually dirty by noon. That’s how you know work is getting done. Sometimes the electricity goes out and we have to wait, but usually, we are busy from morning till night. We don't have a website or fancy brochures. People just know our shop in Pratapnagar. They come by with their trucks or bikes and drop off whatever needs fixing. We talk about the price, we talk about the time, and then we get to work. It’s a practical way to live. We’ve got some old lathes and a few newer drills too. It’s a mix of old and new ways here. We don't make promises we can't keep. If it's going to take a week, we say it's going to take a week. We like to finish things properly before we hand them back.
