Dewale Phetewale is a small shop located at 374 Budhwar Peth, right in the heart of Cholkhan Ali. If you’re familiar with the area, we are quite close to the Pasodya Vithoba temple. It’s an old part of the city, and our shop fits right into the narrow lanes and busy atmosphere of Shukrawar Peth. We specialize in phetas, which are the traditional turbans you see at weddings and festivals. The shop is often filled with rolls of fabric and half-finished phetas waiting to be tied. It’s a craft we’ve been doing for a long time, and the space reflects that. It's a bit cramped inside because of all the materials, but it’s where we do our best work. People come to us from all over Pune when there’s a big event or a family wedding coming up. We don’t have a fancy website or a big advertising sign; most people find us because they’ve heard about us from their parents or neighbors. The street outside is always full of people, and the sound of the temple bells is part of our daily routine. We take our time with each piece to make sure it looks right. It’s a simple life running a shop like this. We aren't trying to be a big chain or anything. We just like keeping the tradition going in this little corner of Budhwar Peth. It’s hard work, especially during the wedding season, but we’re used to it.
