Dev Collection

We are in Guruwar Peth, specifically at Shop No 6 in the Jedhe Niwas building. It's a crowded area but that's just how the market is. We open up the shutters early every day, usually before the sun gets too high. There is always a bit of dust to sweep away from the front step. Inside, the shelves are pretty packed with everything we’ve brought in for the season. Dev Collection isn't a big showroom with bright lights and air conditioning. It’s more of a place where you can just come in and look through the piles. Sometimes the stock gets a bit mixed up, but we know where everything is. The back room is where we keep the extra bags and boxes. My cousin helps out on the weekends when it gets a bit more hectic with people coming from the nearby streets. We spend a lot of time talking to the other shop owners nearby about the weather or the price of things. It’s a basic shop, really. We have a small mirror in the corner and some old wooden stools for people to sit on while they decide. Most of the day is just spent folding things back up and chatting with the regulars who stop by to see what’s new. We don’t really do any fancy advertising, just the sign out front that’s been there for years and the help from family to keep things running.
