Deccan Plateau

Down at Gat No. 235 in Burkegaon, things move a bit slower than they do in the city. Being out near Pimpri-Sandas in the Haveli taluka means we are surrounded by a lot of open land and fields. Deccan Plateau is basically run from the site here, and we spend most of our time outdoors or in the small office building we’ve got. It’s quite a long drive to get out here, but once you are on the property, it’s much quieter. The air is different, and you can actually hear the birds instead of just cars honking. We have a lot of equipment that needs maintaining, so there’s always someone poking around with a wrench or checking the fences. Sometimes the internet is a bit spotty because we are so far out, which can be annoying when we need to send out emails. The seasons really dictate what we do every day. When it’s monsoon, everything gets muddy and we spend a lot of time cleaning off our boots before stepping inside. In the summer, it’s incredibly hot, and we try to get most of the heavy work done before noon. We don’t have a fancy lobby or any receptionists. If you show up, you’ll probably find us near the gate or in the back sheds. It’s honest work and it keeps us busy from sunrise until the sun starts to go down.
