Our shop, Dali & Samir Engineering Pvt. Ltd., sits at 15, Sagar Complex. We are right on the Mumbai-Pune Road, near Nashik Phata. If you’ve ever driven that way, you know how loud the traffic gets with all the big trucks zooming past. The dust from the road usually finds its way inside, so we spend a lot of time wiping down the tables. Being at Nashik Phata makes it easy for people to find us, though the flyover construction used to make it a bit of a mess. Now it’s a bit better. The complex itself has a lot of different shops, but we’ve been at number 15 for quite a while. Inside, it’s mostly just work benches and some heavy equipment. It’s not a quiet place, and the air always smells a bit like metal and grease. That is just part of being an engineering firm, I guess. We don't have a big marketing team or anything; it’s just a few of us making sure the jobs get finished. Sometimes the chai guy comes by twice a day, and that’s usually when we take a short break. The floor is concrete and has some stains from years of work. It’s a solid place to work, even if it gets a bit hot in the afternoons when the sun hits the front of the building. We just keep at it every day and make sure the deliveries go out on time.
