D & B Coffee

We are over at D & B Coffee on Gandhi Road, right in Shop No 4. Koregaon Park is a pretty busy area with a lot of trees and people walking around, so we get a good mix of folks coming in. The shop is small, so the smell of the ground beans fills up the whole space pretty quickly. I usually start the day by wiping down the steel counters and checking the water levels in the machine. It can get quite hot in the afternoon when the sun hits the front glass, but we have a small AC unit that tries its best to keep up. We have a few stools for people to sit on, though most prefer to take their cups and walk down the lane. Gandhi Road has changed a lot over the years, but our little corner stays mostly the same. The floor is made of those old checkered tiles that are a bit chipped at the edges. I spend a lot of time just listening to the hiss of the steam wand and the sound of the grinder. Sometimes we run out of the regular milk early if it’s a busy Monday, and I have to run to the store nearby to grab more. It’s not a corporate place with uniforms; I usually just wear whatever is clean. We just focus on making the drinks and keeping the place tidy for whoever walks through the door next.
