Creative Home Decor is based out in Khondhwa. It’s a growing area and there is always some new building going up nearby. The dust from the road is a bit of a constant battle, but you get used to it. Our shop is a straightforward space. We don’t have a lot of bells and whistles. There is a desk, a few chairs for visitors, and shelves full of the materials we use. I spend a lot of my time here looking through catalogs or talking to suppliers on the phone. Khondhwa has a mix of everyone, so you never know who is going to walk through the door. Some days it’s very quiet and I can hear the birds in the trees outside. Other days, the traffic is so loud I can barely hear myself think. We keep things pretty informal here. There’s no dress code or corporate rules. If someone comes in with an idea, we just sit down and see if we can make it work. Creative Home Decor is really just a small local business trying to do things right. I’ve lived in this area for a long time, so I know most of the shortcuts and where to get the best snacks. The shop is my second home. By the time evening rolls around, I’m usually ready to head back, but there’s always one last thing to tidy up. It’s a simple life and I wouldn't change much about it. I just hope the rain doesn't leak through the door again.
