Chintu Cafe is tucked away in Yogi Sosati in the Dhankavadi area. It isn't a huge place but we have enough room for a few tables and our kitchen equipment. We started this cafe because we wanted a spot in the neighborhood where people could just grab something simple and sit for a bit. Dhankavadi is a busy place but our little corner in the society is relatively quiet. We don't have a big menu or anything fancy. Just the basics that we know how to make well. The staff is just a couple of us who live nearby. We spend our mornings getting the place ready and the afternoons are usually our busiest time when students and workers come by. We don't have a marketing strategy or a social media manager. We just put a sign out front and wait for people to walk in. Some days the weather is nice and we can open the windows and other days it's just too hot. We’ve gotten to know the regulars who come in every day for their usual order. It’s nice to have those familiar faces. We aren't trying to be the next big chain. We just like running our little cafe and being part of the daily life here in Yogi Sosati. It’s a lot of work and the hours are long but we like the independence it gives us. Every day is a bit different and that's what keeps us going through the busy times and the slow ones.
