Chandra Engineering Works

We have been operating Chandra Engineering Works from this spot in the Chikhlee Ramesh Fancy Market for a while now. If you walk down Kumara Krupa Road toward number 1182, you’ll find us easily because of the noise. It is never really quiet around here. There is always the sound of metal being cut or something being welded. The shop is usually a bit of a mess with parts scattered on the floor and old tools lying on the benches. We don't really have a fancy office or anything like that. Most of the time, we are just standing around the machines or sitting on a plastic stool having tea from the stall across the road. The market gets very crowded in the afternoons, especially when the delivery trucks try to squeeze through the narrow lanes. Sometimes the dust gets a bit much, but that is just part of being in this line of work. We know the neighbors well and usually help each other out when someone needs a specific tool or an extra hand with a heavy load. Our sign is a bit faded from the sun, but people around here know where we are. It is just a regular workshop where we spend most of our daylight hours getting things done. There are no big decorations or soft chairs. Just the smell of grease and the hum of the motors running all day long.
