Chai Garam

We are located on Tilak Road, right over by Wadia Park. If you know the area, you probably know the Vinayak Washing Center because it’s almost right next to us. It gets a bit noisy with the cars being cleaned and the water spraying, but we are used to it by now. Chai Garam is just a small operation we started because we wanted to be our own bosses. The space isn't huge, but it's enough for what we need. We spend a lot of time just standing around or sitting on the stools waiting for the next thing to do. The road outside is usually dusty, especially in the summer, but that is just part of living in this part of town. We see a lot of the same faces every day, people going to work or heading to the park for a walk. It is a nice spot for a business like ours because everyone passes through Tilak Road eventually. We keep things pretty simple here. There aren't any big decorations or complicated systems. We just open up early, get the tea ready, and stay until things quiet down in the evening. Sometimes the neighbors come by just to chat for a minute. It’s a good way to pass the time when things aren't too busy. We’ve been here at Wadia Park for a bit and don't plan on moving. It is just a regular job in a regular neighborhood.
