Chaha House

Chaha House is located at Tilak Chowk. We are on Nigdi Road, which is a very busy stretch of road. One of the main things near us is the Madhukar Pawale Flyover. You can see the traffic going up and down the flyover all day long. It’s quite loud with all the horns and engines. We are right in the middle of all that action. Our shop is a simple one. We have a counter where we serve the tea and some basic stools for people to sit on. The walls are painted a simple cream color, but they’ve seen better days. We have a big stove that is the heart of the place. It’s always going, making that whistling sound. We go through a lot of milk and sugar every day. The morning rush is the busiest time. People are heading to work and they want their tea fast. We don't have a fancy menu or anything. It's just tea. We use old metal kettles and simple glasses. Sometimes we run out of change and have to ask the neighbors. It’s a very local way of doing things. We know the regulars who come by at the same time every day. It’s a good feeling to recognize the faces in the crowd. We stay open until late evening when the traffic on Nigdi Road finally starts to slow down.
