Cafe Chokolade

This cafe is at the Hirani Chawl, KS-42, right in the Food Junction area of Kalyan East. We deal with a lot of chocolate, as the name suggests. There are blenders running almost constantly, making shakes and cold drinks. We have big tubs of ice cream and bottles of syrup everywhere. The counters can get a bit sticky if we don't wipe them every few minutes. We have a glass display where we keep some of the snacks. It’s a popular spot for younger people from the chawl and the surrounding neighborhood to hang out. We have a few small tables and chairs inside. The lighting is a bit dim compared to the bright sun outside. We spend a lot of time washing the blender jars and the glasses. Kalyan East is a busy area, so there is always noise from the street coming in. We keep the fridge stocked with milk and cream. Sometimes we have to deal with the power going out, which is a pain for the freezers. We just make the drinks and serve them to whoever comes in. It’s a pretty relaxed place most of the time, except for the weekends when it gets crowded. We don't have a big staff, just a couple of us doing everything from taking the money to making the shakes and cleaning the floor.
