Bjoy Engineering Works

Our workshop is tucked away in Vrindavan Society in Pashan. It’s a bit of a mix here because there are houses nearby, so we try not to be too loud too early in the morning. Being at number 12, we’ve got enough space for the lathes and the welding gear. Most days it’s just the sound of metal being cut and the smell of oil. It’s greasy work, but someone has to do it. The floor is usually covered in metal shavings by noon. We spend most of our time fixing things or making small parts for people who come in with sketches. It’s not a corporate office with air conditioning. We have big fans that mostly just move the warm air around. The door is usually left open for a bit of a breeze. People in the society know us well. They might drop by for a quick repair on a gate or a bike part. We’ve got stacks of raw material in the corner that we organize when things get too messy. Engineering is just about solving practical problems with the tools we have. Sometimes a machine breaks down and we spend half the day fixing our own equipment. It can be frustrating, but that’s the job. We keep a small kettle for tea in the back. It’s a quiet life in Pashan, away from the main city rush. That is the daily routine for us at Bjoy Engineering Works.
