Down in the General Block of Bhosari, it is mostly workshops and the sound of metal hitting metal. We are one of those small shops. There is usually grease on the floor and our hands are never really clean no matter how much soap we use. We do a lot of small parts and repair work for other companies nearby. The machines we use are old, but they still work fine if you know how to handle them. Sometimes we have to stay late to finish a job because a machine broke down earlier in the day. It’s not the cleanest place to work, but it’s what we know. We have a small table in the back where we eat our lunch and talk about what’s going on in the neighborhood. The scrap metal piles up in the corner until the collector comes by on Fridays. We don't have a fancy office or anyone wearing a suit. It’s just us in our work clothes trying to get the dimensions right on whatever piece we are turning on the lathe. Dealing with the heat in the summer is probably the hardest part of being in Bhosari. We just open the big front door and hope for a breeze. It’s honest work and it keeps us busy from Monday to Saturday. We don't think about much else besides getting the next order finished and out the door. We hope the power doesn't cut out today while we are working.
