If you drive along the Pune Bangalore Highway Road, near the NH 4 stretch in Malkapur, you’ll find us at 7/2, Koina Audhyogic Vasad. Baraskar Engg. Works has been operating right by the highway for a long time. It’s a loud place to be, with the constant sound of trucks and cars zooming past outside. Inside the workshop, it’s a mix of welding sparks and the clanging of heavy metal. We do mostly repair work and fabrication, the kind of stuff that requires big tools and a bit of muscle. The floor is almost always covered in metal shavings, and we have to sweep it out at least twice a day just to keep a path clear. We don't have a fancy office; we just have a small desk tucked into a corner where we keep the receipts and the phone. Most of our customers are people who are passing through or locals who have something heavy that needs fixing. It’s gritty work, and it’s often very hot, especially with the welding torches going. We don’t put on any acts for anyone. If you come in, you’ll see us exactly as we are—covered in soot and working on someone’s tractor or a piece of industrial gear. We just keep plugging away at it, trying to stay ahead of the work and keeping the shop open for whoever stops by.
