B K Batteries

B K Batteries is a small shop located at 30/10 in the Bibwewadi area. We spend our days surrounded by batteries of all shapes and sizes, from the ones in your car to the ones used for home backups. It’s a bit of a messy business because we’re often dealing with old, dusty units that people bring in for replacement. The shop has a very specific smell of metal and acid, but we’ve grown used to it over the years. We aren't a big chain or a fancy showroom. We just have our racks of batteries and a small bench where we test them to see if they still work. It involves a lot of heavy lifting, so our backs usually ache by the time we close up for the night. We don't have a big computer system to run things. We just use a simple notebook to keep track of our sales and the warranties we give out. Most of our customers are folks from the local neighborhood who are in a bit of a fix because their vehicle won't start. We try to help them out as quickly as we can so they can get back on the road. It’s not a complicated way to live, but it keeps us busy. Sometimes we have a cup of tea with the regulars while we wait for a battery to finish charging. It’s just a normal shop.
