Narayan Peth is a busy place, especially around Mangal Bazar. Our spot is at number 597. It’s a small space, but we’ve managed to fit everything we need inside. The area is always full of people shopping and vendors calling out, so there is never a dull moment outside our door. We started out with just one small desk and a landline phone many years ago. Now we have a bit more, but the feel of the place hasn't changed much. We get a lot of foot traffic from people who are already in the bazaar doing their daily errands. They see the sign and remember they need to book a ticket for next month. It’s a lot of face-to-face talking here. We don't spend much time on fancy emails; we’d rather just talk to you while you sit across from us. Sometimes the power goes out and we just sit there with the door open until it comes back on. That’s just part of being in this old part of the city. We know the other shop owners on the block, and we all keep an eye out for each other. It’s a tight-knit community in Narayan Peth. We keep our hours pretty steady, but if the market is busy, we usually stick around a little longer just in case someone needs help. It's just us and our ledgers in a very busy corner of the world.
