Autocan Engineers Pvt. Ltd. is situated within the Vishnu-Malati Industrial Estate over in Shivane. It is an area that has grown a lot over the years, and now it is quite a hub for different kinds of workshops and factories. Our spot in the estate is pretty typical for an engineering firm. We have a large open area where most of the heavy work happens and some smaller rooms for the paperwork side of things. The floor is concrete and often has marks from where we have moved heavy parts around. It is a noisy place when everything is running, but we have all gotten used to the sound of the machines and the cooling fans. The Vishnu-Malati Industrial Estate can be a bit dusty, especially during the dry season, so we are always wiping down the benches and equipment. At Autocan Engineers Pvt. Ltd., we do not put much stock in appearances. The walls are a bit scuffed and the furniture is old, but everything works. Most of the people here live in the Shivane area or commute from nearby parts of Pune. We have a routine that has not changed much in a long time. We start the machines, check the schedules, and get to work. There is not a lot of talk about missions or goals; we just focus on making sure the jobs are done right before we lock up the gate for the evening. It is a solid, honest way to spend the day.
