Army Public School

You can find us at Barrack No 3 inside the NDA Campus at Khadakwasla. Being in Pune, and especially on a military campus, makes the atmosphere very different from any regular city school you might visit. It’s much greener here and the air feels a bit cleaner because of all the old trees and the Khadakwasla dam nearby. The building itself is an old barrack, so it has thick stone walls and very high ceilings. It’s not a modern glass building by any means, but it is sturdy and has a lot of history to it. We have students whose parents are mostly serving in the military, so there is a certain way we do things here every day. Everything follows a very tight schedule from the morning till the afternoon. The mornings start with the sound of drills and distant bugle calls from the campus grounds. Our classrooms are simple and strictly functional for the students. We don’t have much in the way of luxury or fancy decorations, but we have exactly what we need to get the job done. The playground is large and open, and the kids spend a lot of time out there during their physical education classes. It’s a quiet life inside the campus compared to the noise and chaos of central Pune. Most of us live nearby, so the commute is just a short walk through the trees.
