Ankit Soda Shop

Ankit Soda Shop is located in the Old Sangvi area, right in Gaondhan. We are directly opposite the Tuljabhvani Temple, which is a very busy spot. We have been here for a good number of years now. The shop itself is quite small, but we managed to fit in a large soda machine and several rows of bottles. During the evenings, especially when there are prayers at the temple, the whole street gets packed with people. That’s usually our busiest time. We don't have any fancy seating, most people just stand around the counter and chat while they drink their soda. The shop floor is a bit worn out and the walls could probably use a new coat of paint, but it feels like home to us. My father started this business and taught me how to mix the different syrups. We don't do any advertising. The sound of the soda machine and the crowd usually draws people in naturally. It’s a simple operation and we like it that way. We know most of the regular customers by name and what they usually order. Sometimes the CO2 tank runs out at the worst possible time, but we’ve learned to handle those little crises. It’s just a regular local shop trying to do things the old-fashioned way. We enjoy being part of the daily life here in Sangvi.
