Amit Shimpi operates out of Bibavewadi in Pune, right near the Bharatjyoti area. If you know Pune, you know this part of town has a lot of families and small shops all packed together. It’s a busy neighborhood where everyone seems to know everyone else's business. Our space is pretty modest. We have a few chairs, a main table, and a lot of papers scattered around because we are always in the middle of something. It’s not the kind of place where you’ll find fancy carpets or glass walls. We prefer it this way because it feels more real. The traffic on the main road can be a headache during rush hour, so we usually try to get in early before the noise starts. Most days are spent talking to people who drop by or handling the various tasks that pile up on the desk. Sometimes we take a break and get some tea from the stall around the corner. It’s just a normal workplace. We don’t try to be anything we aren't. Being near Pune-37 means we are close enough to the main hubs but still have that local community feel. The walls could probably use a fresh coat of paint, but we never seem to find the time to actually do it. We are just busy making sure everything runs like it should for the people who rely on us. The neighborhood has a real energy to it that keeps you on your toes all day.
