Amalgam Engineering

Our shop, Amalgam Engineering, is located at D-12 in Samarth Nagar. We are right off Sinhgad Road here in Pune. It’s a busy area, especially with all the traffic heading towards the city center, but we’ve gotten used to the noise. We do a lot of mechanical and fabrication work. The floor is usually covered in scrap metal and tools, as we always seem to have three or four different projects going at once. It’s just the way it is when you’re trying to keep up with orders. We have a small group of workers who know their way around a welding torch and a drill press. Most of us have been living in Pune for years, so we know the local suppliers and where to get the best materials for a fair price. The building at D-12 isn't new, but it's sturdy and gives us enough space to move the heavier pieces of equipment around. We don't really have a front office with a desk and a chair for visitors; usually, if someone comes by, we just talk to them right there on the shop floor. It’s more direct that way. Sometimes the monsoon rains make things a bit difficult with the leaks in the roof, but we patch them up and keep going. We just aim to do the job right so the parts don't come back with problems later. That's really all there is to it.
