Ali Travels

Shivaji Nagar Main Road is never quiet, and our spot near Cafe Park is right in the middle of it. Ali Travels is basically a small room filled with travel brochures and the sound of a dot matrix printer sometimes. We handle a lot of different things, like helping people with their paperwork for trips or finding the cheapest way to get somewhere. The smell of coffee from Cafe Park drifts in when the wind is right. We have a few old chairs for people to sit on while they wait for their documents to be ready. It’s a lot of staring at screens and talking on the phone with different agencies. Some days are slow and we just sit and watch the cars go by on the main road. Other days, it’s a mad rush with everyone wanting their tickets at the same time. The humidity can get a bit much, so we keep the ceiling fan on high all day. We’ve been at this location for a while now, so we know most of the regular commuters. It’s a straightforward job without any bells and whistles. We just make sure the names are spelled right and the dates are correct. It’s a lot of responsibility because nobody wants to get stuck at an airport. When we close up, the main road is still bustling, but we’re ready to call it a day.
