Hinjawadi is known for all the big tech companies now, but we are over at 182/275 doing engineering work. We handle a lot of precision jobs, mostly cutting and shaping metal parts for various industries. It’s a different world from the glass buildings nearby. Our shop is full of the smell of cutting oil and the sound of lathes turning. I’ve been doing this for a long time, and my hands show it. We take in drawings and try to make them real. Sometimes the designs are complicated and we have to spend a lot of time figuring out the best way to set up the machines. We don't have a big sales team. Usually, people find us because someone else told them we do okay work. It’s a lot of measuring with calipers and checking tolerances. If we're off by even a tiny bit, the whole part is useless, so we have to stay focused even when it's hot. The afternoon sun hits the metal roof and it can get stuffy inside. We have a few fans going, but they mostly just move the warm air around. We're not trying to change the world, just trying to make sure every piece that leaves the shop is done right. It’s a living, and it's what we know how to do. We have been here since before the area got so crowded with software offices.
