This location for Accor Hotels is a bit different because it’s out in Village Bhanpokhara. It’s near Post-Patlot in the Okhalkanda area, which is part of the Nainital district in Uttaranchal. We are surrounded by hills and a lot of greenery. Most of the people working here are from the nearby villages. We don't have the polished corporate vibe you might expect from the name. It’s more about keeping the fireplace going and making sure there is enough supplies brought up from the main town. It takes a while for deliveries to reach us. The air is fresh, but the work is physically demanding because of the terrain. We spend our days looking after the property and talking to the few travelers who find their way up this far. It’s a quiet existence. Sometimes the electricity goes out for hours and we just use lanterns. We don't have any big marketing plans or fancy brochures. People usually hear about us through word of mouth or just happen to be passing through the Nainital district. It’s a very basic setup in a very beautiful, rugged part of the country. We just do our best to keep things running smoothly.
