Sadashiv Peth is one of those places where everyone seems to know everyone else. Our office is right in the middle of it. It’s an old area with narrow lanes, so things can get pretty tight when a big truck tries to come through. We’ve been at this address for a long while now. The building is older, but it has some character to it. We don't have a big staff, just a few of us who grew up around here and know the shortcuts. People stop by not just for travel stuff but sometimes just to say hello or ask about the weather. We have these old wooden desks that have been here since we opened. The walls are covered with some old calendars and a few maps we’ve had for years. It isn’t the kind of place with air conditioning or fancy lights. We just use the ceiling fans and keep the door open to catch whatever breeze comes down the lane. Some days it’s very quiet and we just read the newspaper and wait for the phone to ring. Other days, like during the festival season, it’s a total madhouse with people trying to book cars last minute. We just take it as it comes. It's a simple life running a travel desk in this part of town, and we wouldn't want to be anywhere else. We know the neighbors and the rhythm of the street perfectly by now.
