If you come down to Chinchwad and look for room 103, you will find our dance academy. It is basically a big open room with some mirrors we put up on the walls ourselves. We spend most of our time here with the music turned up loud. It is a place where kids and teenagers come to learn their steps after they finish their schoolwork. Sometimes we do classical, and other times it is just whatever is popular on the radio. The floor has a few scuffs from all the dancing, but that is a sign of hard work. We aren't a big fancy franchise. It is just a local spot where people come to move around and have some fun. The afternoons get pretty loud, and you can probably hear us from the street if the windows are open. We have had students who started here when they were very small and now they are almost grown up. It is nice to see that progress over time. We do not have a lot of fancy equipment, just a good sound system and enough space for everyone to stretch out. During the festival seasons, we get really busy preparing for local shows. Those days are long and everyone gets tired, but it is a good kind of tired. We often have parents waiting outside in the hallway, chatting while they wait for the class to finish. It is a community feel.
