Vidya Residential High School

Being a residential high school means we’re here pretty much all the time. Our place is near R P S More on Bailey Road, right in the Danapur Cantt area of Patna. Since students live here, the school never really feels empty. Even in the evenings, there’s noise from the dorms or the dining area. We spend our mornings in the classrooms and our afternoons helping out with whatever else needs doing. It’s a big responsibility, looking after kids day and night. The building is functional. We have the sleeping quarters, the study halls, and the common areas. It’s not a hotel, just a place for students to stay while they get their education. We have to keep a close eye on the kitchen and the maintenance. Bailey Road is usually jammed with traffic, but inside the walls, we have our own little rhythm. The staff here is used to the long hours. We talk to the parents when they come to visit on weekends. It’s a bit of a community on its own. We don't have fancy brochures with staged photos. If you walked in, you’d see real life—kids playing, teachers carrying stacks of papers, and maybe someone fixing a leaky tap. We just keep the place running so the students have somewhere to be. It’s a lot of mundane work, but it’s what we do. We've been doing this for years and we know the drill.
