If you know the Digha Ashiana Road in Patna, you know it can be a bit of a squeeze with all the traffic. Our school, Don Bosco Academy, is situated right in the middle of all that. The morning rush is always a bit intense with the rickshaws and cars piling up near the entrance while kids get out. Once you get inside the gates, though, it feels a bit more structured. The building has been here for years, and it shows in some of the older corners of the library and the stairwells. We have a lot of classrooms to keep track of, and the bell system is what keeps us all on time throughout the day. The playground isn't the biggest you'll find, but the kids make it work for their football games or just running around. We don't go in for much decoration; it's mostly just whiteboards and wooden benches that have seen a lot of use over the terms. The staff stays busy with the paperwork and the daily lessons. In the afternoons, the sun hits the front of the building quite hard, so we have to keep the blinds down to stay cool. It is a busy place with a lot of noise during the breaks. Parents are always coming by to drop off something they forgot or to talk about the upcoming holidays. We just keep things running as best as we can, day in and day out, in this busy part of Patna.
