Vidhya Sagar Middle School

Vidhya Sagar Middle School is in a pretty unique spot. We are located in the State Bank of India ATM building on Ashok Rajpath in Patna, 800004. It’s a very busy part of the city, and having an ATM right there means there are always people coming and going. The school itself is on the upper floors. It’s a middle school, so we have children from the younger grades up to grade eight. Ashok Rajpath is a major road, so the sound of traffic is constant. We have had to get used to teaching over the noise of buses and cars. The classrooms aren't very large, but we make them work by keeping the groups small. We don't have a playground, so the students stay indoors most of the time. The hallway is where they get to stretch their legs between classes. Our teachers share a small room where they keep all the attendance registers and textbooks. It’s a bit of a tight squeeze when everyone is there at once. The entrance to the school is right next to the bank area, which makes it easy for parents to find. We have been in this building for quite a while. It’s not a fancy school with a lot of extras, but it serves the families living near Ashok Rajpath. We just keep things moving, focusing on the daily schedule and making sure the students learn what they need to before they move on.
