J.D & Sons Footwear

We are located in Patna, right in the same spot in the Mogalpura district as many of the other footwear businesses. J.D & Sons has been a name around here for some time now. It’s a straightforward operation. We don't spend money on fancy logos or big signs. Mostly, we just focus on the stock we have and the people who come in through the door. The address might be a bit confusing for outsiders, but once you find Jalwa Toli, you’re basically there. We have a lot of family history tied up in this, like the name suggests. It’s about passing things down and keeping the work going. The shop isn't very large, so things can get a bit cramped when we get a new shipment in. Boxes get stacked up to the ceiling sometimes. We try to keep it organized, but it’s a constant battle. The neighbors are all doing similar work, so there’s a sense of being in it together. We drink a lot of chai and talk about the market prices. It’s a very local way of doing business. We aren't looking to change the world, just to provide good footwear for the folks around Patna City. If the fans are humming and we have customers, it’s a good day for us. We just take it one season at a time and try not to let the heat get to us too much while we work.
