Icon Public School

Icon Public School is tucked away in Shiv Mandir Lane, just off the main Bailey Road. If you know Sheikhpura, you know it can get pretty crowded out there. Our corner is a bit quieter once you get past the temple. We started this place because the kids in this part of Patna needed a school they could walk to. It’s not a huge campus with a dozen playgrounds. We have a modest building and we use every inch of it. The teachers here are mostly locals who have been with us for years. They know which student is struggling and who needs a bit of extra help with their math. We spend a lot of time on the basics. Sometimes the fans are a bit loud or the paint is peeling a little, but the learning doesn't stop. We don't go in for big advertisements. Most people find out about us through neighbors talking. It's a busy life here in 800014. We see the kids grow up from little ones into teenagers. It makes you feel a bit old sometimes. We try to keep the rules simple and the atmosphere friendly. Parents often hang around the gate at dismissal time to catch up. It’s just a normal school doing what schools do. We don’t have all the latest gadgets, but we have teachers who care. That seems to be enough for the families around here. It's just a regular local spot for learning and growing up together.
