Avm Convent School

Avm Convent School is tucked away in Gali No.1, inside the Shakti Nagar Colony area of Patpara. We are right near the City Jubilee Hall on Ghantghar Road. It is a bit of a crowded area, so you have to keep an eye out for the turn-off when you are coming down the main road. The school is a simple building, nothing too tall or fancy. We started it because there were so many families nearby who needed a place for their children to go during the day. We have kids coming in from all the nearby lanes and houses. Every day starts with a bit of noise as everyone settles in, but once the first period begins, it gets much quieter. The classrooms are small but we make it work by keeping everything tidy. We don’t spend money on big advertisements or shiny signs. Most of our students come here because their neighbors told them about us. We use the textbooks that are required and try to explain things in a way that makes sense to the kids. Sometimes the electricity goes out and we have to open all the windows, but that is just part of living in this part of town. We care about the kids getting their work done and being decent people. It is a regular school for regular families, and we like keeping it that way without any fuss.
