Laxminiya Farmer Producer Company is located over in West Champaran, specifically in the Banu Chhapara area of Bettiah. A few of us, including Md Khalid Ansari and some others from Vill-Padari Dushyia, thought it was about time we organized ourselves. Farming around here can be tough if you’re doing it all alone. We spend most of our days out in the fields or meeting up near the post office area to talk about what we need for the next season. It's not like those big companies you see in cities; we are just locals who grew up here. Our setup is simple, just enough to get the job done. Sometimes the roads aren't great, and things take longer than they should, but we manage. We deal with whatever crops are in season and try to make sure everyone gets a fair shake. Being in a place like Padari Dushyia means everyone knows everyone anyway. We just put a name on it so we could work together officially. There isn't much to say other than we work the land and try to keep things moving forward. If you come by Bettiah and head towards our village, you’ll see the farms we are talking about. It’s mostly just quiet work and planning for the harvest. We don't have fancy brochures, just our hands and the dirt we work with every single day.
