Down here in Terhagachh, things move a bit slow, and that’s how we like it. We’re located over at Noorul Hasan’s place in Vill-Serati Kamatitolaseratikamati. It’s a mouthful of a name, but it’s home for us. Khajurbari Farmer Producer Company Limited isn't some big corporation from the city. It’s just us farmers from the Panchdhabeli area who decided we needed to talk to each other more. Farming around here is tough. You spend all day in the sun, and then you hope the prices are okay when the harvest comes. We started this group because we wanted to see if we could help each other out with getting better supplies or maybe just sharing advice on what’s growing well this season. Sometimes we meet up after a long day just to chat about the rain or the bugs that are bothering the crops. It’s very informal. We don’t have fancy meetings with suits. Usually, it’s just a few of us standing around in the dirt, talking. We all know each other’s families and which fields belong to whom. It makes sense to work as one group instead of everyone fighting their own battles. We’re just trying to make sure our families are okay and the land stays healthy. There’s no secret to it, just honest work and trying to be smarter about how we do things together in our village.
