If you find yourself on Central Avenue in Durgapur, you’ll see our place at 7/15. It’s a busy road, especially during the morning rush when everyone is trying to get to work. Our office has been here for a long time, and the building reflects that. It isn't a modern glass skyscraper; it’s more of a traditional Indian office space with thick walls and high ceilings. We handle various administrative tasks for the steel works from here. It gets noisy with the traffic outside, but we’ve learned to tune it out. Inside, it’s mostly just the sound of keyboards and people talking about delivery dates. We don’t use any complicated systems, just the stuff that has worked for us for decades. The people working here are locals who have grown up seeing the chimneys of the steel plant on the horizon. There’s a sense of history in this part of West Bengal, and we feel like a small part of it. We don't have any interest in being flashy. We just want to make sure the steel gets to where it needs to go. Lunchtimes are usually spent sharing food brought from home and talking about the local football scores. It’s a straightforward life. We are at our desks every day, keeping the wheels turning as best as we can without making any noise about it. It is what we know and what we do.
