Located over at 5/20 Harshabardhan Road, our spot in Durgapur-4 is right in the heart of the Burdwan district. It’s a bit of a walk from the main bus stand, but it’s a decent area. We have been working out of this building for years, and it has seen a lot of changes in the neighborhood. The walls could probably use a fresh coat of paint, but they hold up well enough. Most of our day is spent handling the logistics of steel production and distribution. It is not glamorous work by any means. There is a lot of checking lists and talking to drivers who are heading out to other parts of West Bengal. We don’t have a big marketing team or anything like that here. It’s just us. The desks are piled with ledgers and there is always a pot of tea somewhere nearby. When the rains come, the sound on the roof is so loud we have to shout a bit to be heard. But we like it here. It feels honest. Neighbors know who we are, and we know them. We are just another part of the community, trying to keep things running smooth without making a big fuss about it. We stay late sometimes when there is a backlog, but usually, we close up at the normal hour. It is just a regular office doing regular work for the steel sector.
