Shree Vijay Shanti Tent House

Rani Main Bazar is always loud, and that is where we have been for years. Running a tent house like Shree Vijay Shanti Tent House is not easy work, even if people think it is just putting up some fabric. Most days start early with a check of the inventory in the back. Piles of heavy metal poles and stacks of chairs that have seen better days but still do the job take up most of our space. The fabric needs washing and folding, which takes forever. During the wedding season, nobody gets much sleep. Our crew stays out in the heat, hammering stakes into the ground and making sure the curtains don't fly away if the wind picks up. Our shop in the bazar is a bit cramped because we keep so much stuff inside. A layer of dust settles on everything because of the traffic outside, but we clean what matters. Sometimes the lights don't work or a pipe leaks, and we just fix it ourselves. This is a family thing, mostly. We know the people around here and they know where to find us when they have a function. No big office exists here, just a desk with a lot of papers and an old fan that makes a clicking noise all day. We just keep going, moving from one event to the next, hoping the rain stays away when the tents are up.
