Pushkar Tent House

Our place is on Station Road in Sarvoday Nagar, right at number 59. We have been running Pushkar Tent House for a good while now, and it involves a lot of heavy lifting every single day. Most of our mornings are spent loading up the truck with metal poles, heavy rolls of fabric, and stacks of plastic chairs. When there is a wedding or some local function, we are out there early in the morning or late at night getting everything stood up and tied down. It is hard work, especially when the weather is not helping, but we are used to the heat and the wind. The warehouse space on Station Road is usually a bit of a mess with ropes and folded carpets everywhere. We have different colors of cloth and various sizes of tents, so there is always something to sort out or clean after a job is done. People come by the shop to talk about their dates and what kind of setup they need for their yard or the open street. We do not have a fancy office, just a desk where we keep the ledger and some old photos of past setups we have done. We know most of the families in Sarvoday Nagar because we have probably set up a tent for them at some point over the years. It is the kind of job where you are always on the move and your clothes always have dust on them. (257 words)
