Jilani Tent & Light House

Jilani Tent & Light House is located at Ranakpur Akharia Chowk and it is usually a very busy spot for us. We have all the big tents and the decorative lights stored here. When there is a festival or a wedding, things are always being moved around. The light bulbs need to be checked constantly because they break easily when we are transporting them in the back of the van. The Chowk is a good place to be but it gets crowded with people and vehicles. A lot of time is spent untangling long wires and making sure the generators have enough fuel. It’s a lot of physical labor, lifting the heavy iron poles and pulling the canvas tight over the frames. We don't have a fancy showroom, just a big storage area where everything is kept as organized as possible. Sometimes we are working in the middle of the night to take down a setup so we can move it to the next place the next morning. If the weather gets too windy or starts to rain it can be a problem, but that is just part of the business. We have been doing this for a while now and we know how to get the lights working even when the connection is tricky. It’s honest work and we just make sure everything is ready for the night.
