Roopam Mobile Shop

Roopam Mobile Shop is right by the Old Bus Stand. Because of where we are, it never really gets quiet. There are always buses pulling in and out and people running to catch their ride. They pop in quickly because they forgot their charger or they need a new screen guard because they dropped their phone on the pavement. I spend a lot of time sitting under a bright lamp fixing small parts or trying to get a charging port to work again. The shop is tiny, just enough room for the glass counter and a couple of stools. We have rows of colorful phone cases hanging on the walls to show what we have. People also come in just to put some balance on their phones or to ask why their internet isn't working right. It gets very dusty with all the wind from the bus stand, so I’m always wiping the glass. I’ve seen all kinds of phones, from the old ones with buttons to the new shiny ones. Sometimes travelers are in a real panic because their battery died and they need to call home. I try to help them out fast so they don’t miss their bus. It is a small space but we manage to fit a lot of stuff in here. The noise of the conductors shouting is the background music for our whole day.
